Lee has been a fully trained and licensed hairstylist for 37 years. Originally trained in England she attained her City and Guilds status in 1974. On arrival in Canada she took her BC Licensing exam in 1976. A former hairdressing school owner, salon owner and educator...Lee has also been a Provincial Examiner, committee member for the BCHA, and is a Master Stylist and Silver Level Judge. Among her academic qualifications she has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria in Art History and Creative Writing and holds an Adult Education Certificate and her Red Seal. She has also taken further advanced training in hair design from Dwight Miller, Trevor Sorbie , Chris Baron, Jack Nosegaard, Krop&Styles, Vidal Sasoon ( London), Wayne Grund, Leo Forsyth, Dennis Gebhart, Lena Choi and Daniel Benoir as well as master classes from all the major colour companies.
When Lee was looking for a well established professional salon with a long term vision of its future she found Doria and Company and has been a valued member of its team for 9 years. Specializing exclusively in Women's couture cut and colour Lee brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the salon and after 37 years in the industry still loves and is so passionate about her career.
Ingrid (currently on maternity leave) has been doing hair for over 7 years. Dynamic creativity and a drive to pursue excellence are what set Ingrid a cut above as a stylist. Whether it’s a symposium in Las Vegas or a local Redken workshop, Ingrid keeps her skills up to date so clients can discover the look that works best for them. Ingrid loves to create looks that her male and female clients find easy to maintain and love. When it comes to color, Ingrid`s secret is to maximize the hairs health which gives long lasting, beautiful color in return. Through Doria & Co`s support Ingrid has become an award winning stylist who also participates in local events such as the closing ceremonies for the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Malia has been doing hair for 6 years. She graduated from Hair Art Academy and specializes in color, especially blondes and up-dos. Malia is passionate in all other aspects of hair and loves to put her creativity into coloring since it can make such a difference in brightening up a clients features. Malia loved when she walked in the doors at Doria and Company, how everyone greeted her and welcomed her warmly. She knew then that she wanted to be able to offer that kind of service to all her clients. When she isn’t at work you can find her walking her dog or with friends and family, anything to do with having fun.
Suman Graduated John Cassablancas 3 years ago. She is very dedicated to Health and wellness and prides herself on taking care of her clients. Suman has a degree in Reiki massage, and is also an educator within this field. Suman loves waxing and facials, she believes that every client experience should be unique and wonderful. In her free time you can find Suman spending time with her family.
My name is April and I am a part of the very fun and exciting front end of Doria & Co. I love sports and being a tom-boy, yet I love anything to do with make-up, hair and fashion. You can find me here in the evenings and sometimes a very odd morning. My goal here is to greet each and every person with a smile and to make your entrance and exit a memorable experience. I am very lucky to be a part of such a wonderful team of people!
Jennifer Has been a fully trained stylist for 15 years. She is passionate about color and loves creating new styles best suited to her clients needs. Jennifer will give you all the tools you need so you can re-create your new look at home. When she isn't busy behind the chair, you can find her painting a new canvas or reading a good book. Jennifer also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
"Goodmorning Doria and Company, Ashley speaking how can i help you?", this is how my day begins. Two years later and i have been lucky to call Doria and Company home. I take pride in making our clients feel welcome and comfortable. I also help provide a warm positive experience for all clients, making sure all needs are met.
Sari has been doing hair for the past 2 years and graduated from RSH international college of cosmetology. Sari's favorite thing to do with hair is everything and anything! You can find her outside spending time with her family and friends when she is not at work.
Diane grew up on Vancouver Island and worked as a stylist there for 9 years before coming to the mainland.
She loves the creative and technical aspect of hair coloring. She likes creating new/dramatic looks, or helping maintain an easy daily style. She likes the science behind hair color, how and why it works, and what it can do for every hair type and color.
She also likes the social aspect of hair. "Being a stylist in a smaller city helped me learn how to relate to clients, help build relationships with them and cater to them the way they deserve. Looking forward to building the same kind of relationship here". Outside of work she is usually walking/ hiking, cooking/baking, reading, or spending time with family and friends.
Brenda graduated from the John Casablanca’s Institute of Art. She enjoys all parts of esthetics especially make-up, massage and skin care. She values her clients and makes sure all of their spa visits are relaxing and pleasant. She upgrades her knowledge constantly through the Dermal Institute. During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and loved ones.
Kaylie has been a stylist for 4 years. She completed her training at Utopia Academy. Kaylie loves the forever changing styles and fashion. She enjoys the creativity and the endless opportunities in the industry. She has also completed the esthetics programs at Utopia Academy and believes they compliment each other very well. With each cut, color or beauty treatment, it brings out your individuality and she strives to achieve that with every client at Doria & Co. She is very excited to join the team and hopes to continue to grow in her career. Also completed the esthetics programs and believes they compliment each other very well.
